Anthropic announced that Claude chat and Cowork are merging into a single interface. Artifacts, Cowork, and Claude Design capabilities are now reachable from any conversation, with existing context, skills, and connectors carried across — no separate workspace tab required.
The company also put Claude Docs and Claude Slides into beta, rolling out first to Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile. The move is a direct bid against Google Workspace AI and Microsoft 365 Copilot bundles: document and deck generation live inside the same seat as the chat model.
Product unification matters because agent workflows stall when users have to decide which surface owns the file. A single Claude that can draft a brief, open a doc, and build slides from the same thread reduces that tax. Salesforce-in-Claude, already in open beta with dozens of sales skills, points the same direction: Claude as a work OS, not only a chatbot.
Enterprise buyers will watch pricing and data-retention terms as closely as features. Suite lock-in is the real contest, and Anthropic is trying to make switching costs favor staying inside Claude rather than exporting to Office or Docs.
Key takeaway Claude is no longer split between “chat” and “work.” Docs and Slides in the same thread put Anthropic in the productivity-suite fight, not just the model-API fight.
